Rarity and Value: There is only one note like this known to exist. It is completely unique for the denomination. We won’t suggest a value here, but we are certainly talking north of $100,000. Thousands of notes like this were printed, so it is certainly possible that more will be found. By all means, please contact us if you have one. We would be happy to advise as to the value.
Current Market Analysis: There are a lot of things to think about when you are trying to value a note from Colorado. Is the note from a ski resort area, does the town have a rich frontier or mining history, is it from a wealthy Denver suburb, or was issued while Colorado was still a territory? There was a time when a few very rich collectors were paying absurd amounts of money for notes from Colorado. Today prices are much more predictable. Brown backs and first charters always sell well. Notes that are unique for the town are still worth very large sums of money. Just remember that past results are no guarantee of future success. Sadly, you can’t bring back the boom days, but good notes are still in demand.
