Rarity and Value: These are surprisingly rare bank notes. Right around 50 are known to exist from all territorial banks throughout the country. However, they don’t trade for premiums over other denominations that are considerably more common. The exact value of any bank note like this is still just based on the condition and issuing bank. Current Market Analysis: All first charter bank notes from Idaho are very scarce. Brown backs can either be issued as territorials or as state notes. Territorials are of course far more desirable. Of course the bank of issue is always very important. Most notes you see are from Boise. Notes from smaller towns are going to be more appealing to most collectors. Towns that have ties to Native American tribes like Nez Perce, Blackfoot, etc. are always very popular. There are plenty of notes from small farming towns that can be worth big money.
