Rarity and Value: Most of these notes are fairly scarce. We generally see them sell for between $300 and $1,200. There is room for that price range to go higher. However, more valuable notes have to be in excellent condition or they need to be from rare banks. Please contact us if you would like to know the exact value of your note. Don’t forget to check the serial number. Number 1 notes always sell for nice premiums.
Current Market Analysis: The most expensive notes from Nebraska were issued while Nebraska was still a territory. Only about ten notes like that are known to exist and they are all in heavily circulated condition. Pricing the other 99.9% of Nebraska notes can be difficult. Lots of notes exist that are not on the collector census. It seems like every five years Nebraska is red hot and then ice cold. Right now we are moving from hot to cold. First charter notes are of course very rare. There is actually a fairly large selection of nice brown backs, red seals, and blue seals. As always, notes from small towns will be worth more than notes from larger cities like Omaha and Lincoln.
