Rarity and Value: William McKinley is shown on the front of all 1902 $10 bills. This is the single most common type of large-size national bank note. Some of these are only worth around $50. Some can be worth $500, and others still can sell for more than $5,000. It is all about the bank rarity. Sadly, there is no place online to see if you have a rare bank. The best advice is to just check with an expert. We happily answer questions about all national bank notes. Contact us to get the value of yours. Don’t forget to check the serial number. Number 1 notes always sell for nice premiums.
Current Market Analysis: It has been a long time since we have seen any truly rare and amazing national bank notes from Georgia. The best notes are tied up in long-term collections and there hasn’t been a lot of great discoveries in the past decade like there have been with other states. As we have said before, condition is always important. Notes from Georgia aren’t frequently encountered in high grades. Generally speaking, first charter notes are very scarce. Also keep an eye out for notes issued before 1902 (that don’t have blue seals). Early notes from the South are just few and far between. There are still a handful of traditional rare towns from the state, but not as many as you might expect.
